Research Areas

The lab’s current research focuses primarily on the metabolic consequences of delivery by cesarean section. Did you know that children born via c-section are at ~50% greater risk of childhood obesity? This is a very difficult issue to get to the bottom of using only data from humans, so we have proposed experimental animal research to find out whether and why c-sections lead to weight gain and how to prevent that from happening.
